Desi is a gorgeous, loving lady who was stuck at our local animal services. Like so many before her, we just couldn't understand why she had not been adopted. She was the perfect foster. Sweet, loving, obedient, and an all-around wonderful dog. We knew she could mesh well into almost any home that showed her love. If we weren't at our max for our dogs, we would have definitely considered adopting her ourselves.
Desi, now called Callie, was adopted by the perfect family. She has a mom, dad, and 8 year old human brother that she gets to cuddle with every night. Later, Callie's family ended up adopting on of our other fosters, Liam. The two are a match made in heaven! You can continue to follow them both at @adventures_of_callie_and_liam
Elmer is truly one of a kind. He was a staff favorite among the volunteers at our local shelter. A kind woman worked very hard to earn his trust when she saw him as a stray in order to bring him to safety. We instantly fell in love with his quirky personality and extra-long tongue that refuses to stay in his mouth. After he came here, we started to realize just how extensive the trauma he went through was. He was missing almost all of his teeth (which explains the hanging tongue), and he was completely deaf. Even with his ailments, he is a truly special guy.
Elmer was adopted by his new mom, who drove all the way from Arizona to meet him. He now lives with her and two fur-siblings. Since being adopted, we have gotten to see a side to him that we never witnessed. He is truly happy to be home. You can follow him at @Glued_By_Elmer
Leon is a playful puppy who is in search of the perfect forever home. He is learning all of his basic commands, is being crate trained, and is extremely smart. He will make a family out there extremely happy. He is in his crazy "puppy stage", so he will need a family that can point him in the right direction with a firm, consistent hand. You can apply to adopt Leon by going to FresnoBullyRescue.org!
Leon has now been adopted to a wonderful family! He will have a brother who is going to train him, play with him, and be is loyal friend; a sister who he gets to cuddle and kiss; and two great parents who are very excited about adding a new member into their family!
Liam is a handsome, sweet, young man who was stuck at our local shelter for a few months with no adopters in sight. We just couldn't understand why this perfect boy had not been scooped up yet. He instantly hit it off with our pack, and even formed a bit of a little romance with Angel. He made quick best buds with our other foster, Leon, and we knew he had to go to a home with another dog. Unfortunately, he was stood up by several adopters at first. But, like they say, "everything happens for a reason."
Liam was recently adopted by a family who has actually adopted from us in the past. They are the amazing people who took in Desi (now called Callie). It was definitely love at first sight! You can follow both these cuties at @adventures_of_callie_and_liam
Bluto is a squishy little hippo dog who was stuck at Fresno Bully Rescue after having been returned by a previous adopter. He is the ultimate sweetheart and always gives hot, breathy kisses (even if they don't smell that nice). He stole our hearts pretty immediately, and we fell inlove with his lazy, goofy personality.
Bluto now lives in Washington with his mom and two fur-siblings. You can follow his adventures at @BlutoTheHippo
Tater Tot was originally found in a mall trash can by a nice lady who worked in the complex, and was brought to Bay Area Bullies Rescue. The minute Maggie was adopted into her forever home, we took in Tater Tot as our next foster. Tater Tot, even as young as she was, came to us as an extremely smart and intuitive puppy (this is definitely an example of the amazing training Bay Area Bullies Rescue is responsible for). Tater has blossomed into a wonderful pack member, companion, and pet! Currently, her adoption is pending, but you can send all donations and inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org!
Tater now lives happily with her mom, dad, brother Cooper, and newest brother Levi. You can follow their adventures at @CooperPup_TaterTot
Suki was brought into the SPCA with a swollen face due to an abscess. Possible puncture wound from being bit. A surgery to install a drain and antibiotics was needed to get this cute 7 week old baby girl on the road to recovery. Surgery was done last night at Abby Pet Hospital and she will soon be available for adoption through FBR! If you would like to donate towards her vet care, any amount is needed and appreciated. Donations can be made here: www.fresnobullyrescue.org/donate.html or you can call Abby Pet Hospital directly and ask to donate towards Suki's bill.
Suki has been adopted by a wonderful family where she will have 3 human siblings, 1 boxer/pit mix sibling, and 2 amazing parents! Her parents drove over 600 miles to pick her up! Now that's dedication! Suki will be able to roam and play freely on their fenced acre property, then gets to go inside and pick whichever bed she feels like sleeping in....What a life! You can continue to follow her antics at @sweet_suki_
Payton was born with "swimmer puppy syndrome" and, because his "breeder" could not sell him, he was planning on shooting and killing him (and his brother, who was also rescued). A neighbor and Westside Rescue stepped in to rescue Payton & his brother who both could not walk at the time. His original foster family rehabilitated the two brothers and, with enough TLC, they grew into healthy and playful pups!
While Payton has been in our care, he has truly blossomed into a confident, playful, loving boy! He loves to play with his foster brother and sisters (all 4 of them, who are also pit bull mixes/rescues). Payton is the perfect boy- loving, obedient, smart, ADORABLE. He is crate trained, and is currently being potty trained (and learning quickly!). Payton is still a bit wobbly on his paws from his condition, but he doesn't let his clumsiness deter him from having fun like a puppy!
Payton (Now named Simon) has been adopted by a wonderful family, and he even has an adorable brother! You can continue to follow his goofy self on Instagram here!
Maggie was originally raised in a giant family, but once their father went to jail, this sweet girl was dropped off at the shelter. She was due for euthanasia because the shelter, like many out there, was overcrowded and out of space. A good person decided to pull her because she saw what a sweet heart Maggie is, and that she needed another shot at life. Her temporary owner tried finding her a home, but didn't have much luck doing everything on her own. She ended up having a serious family emergency, so Bay Area Bullies stepped up to help.
While in her new foster home, she flourished into a confident and well-rounded family/ pack member. I learned that Maggie had a growth on her bum that caused her to bleed, which had never seemed to affect her happiness, but is unhealthy and dangerous nonetheless. At around 3-4 years old, Maggie still hadn't found her forever home, which made her medical past unknown and basically non-existent to us.
Fortunately, with the help of several amazing donors and the Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Maggie was able to get a full biopsy, vet care, and the surgery she needed. We were all relieved when Maggie's biopsy results came back and revealed that none of her growths were cancerous! With that amazing news came even more joyous luck-- Maggie had a very serious adopter interested in her.
We didn't quite know it then, but Maggie had definitely found her forever home. Her (new) dad brought along her (new) brother, who is almost identical to the Meatball FYI, and all bonded over some play-time.
Maggie is doing well in her fur-ever home with her brother! She is spoiled beyond belief and we couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. You can continue to follow Maggie and her brother on Instagram at @meatballsfurever650
Angel was found roaming the busy streets by a shelter worker. Shortly after being picked up, Angel gave birth to 6 puppies in the back seat of the car. Unfortunately, one of the puppies was born in very poor condition, and passed shortly after. Angel and her 5 puppies were being kept with their rescuer, and were luckily put in the Fresno Bully Rescue system. A day later, we went and picked the family of six! When we first met Angel, she was shy and mainly concerned about her pups. Her body language was skittish and unsure, and her protruding bones painted the picture of her unfortunate past. That was then, but this is now. Angel has shown the entire household just how resilient and courageous she really is. She's been rapidly gaining her weight back and getting closer to being the healthy dog she's meant to be! She had already met our pack of 4, including our 1 foster (so 5 total), and was truly a sweet and accepting dog- despite all she's been through. She will be available for adoption through Fresno Bully Rescue once she is healthy and ready!
These 5 survivors are still getting the feel of their personalities, and it has been such a joy watching their discoveries! They will all be available for adoption through Fresno Bully Rescue when they are old enough & ready.
Fun Fact: This entire litter + their mama were named after dogs that have personally inspired us.
Angel's name was inspired by the amazing girl that inspired her owner, Rebecca Corry, to organize the monumental ONE MILLION PIBBLE MARCH on Washington D.C. Follow the original Angel here.
Wally is named after a senior beagle who was rescued by a friend and member of the Priceless Pet Rescue out of Chino Hills, CA. He was dumped at a kill shelter, presumably because of his old age and ailments, but was adopted by his "foster fail" father, John. Wally, the pup, earned his title by being the loudest of his litter, as he seems to demand the most attention. If you know of Wally the Senior Beagle, then you know all about his signature howl! Follow the original Wally here.
Nana's name was inspired by Nana the Earless Pibble, who suffered through years of abuse, neglect, and overbreeding. Her ears were cropped so badly that they had to be removed entirely. She is the epitome of sweet, and Nana the Pup has embodied this very essence since birth it seems. Follow the original Nana here.
Paddington was named by the Fresno Bully Rescue foster coordinator, but we know of a wonderful Australian sharpei who makes us smile daily with his adorable videos and photos-- so the name is perfect either way! Follow the other Paddington here.
Ada's name was influenced by a senior boxer all the way in Spain who was rescued by a wonderful family, and proves to us that senior girls can still have a good time and make a wonderful companion! Follow the original Ada here.
Marnie was named after the most adorable rescued shih-tzu on the internet-- Marnie the Dog. Marnie the dog was rescued from the streets completely matted, stinky, and unrecognizable. Now she struts her stuff around town being a (silent) voice for adoption and rescuing! Follow the original Marnie here.
All 5 of Angel's babies have been adopted into their fur-ever homes! One of them (an Angel replica) can be followed at @piper_pit
Angel chose her fur-ever home the moment she stepped in our house, we just hadn't known it yet. When it came time to actually picturing Angel leaving us, we just knew we couldn't let that happen. We fell head over heals in love with her, and she formed such a beautiful bond with our pack, we realized that she had been home the entire time.
